Kristen Anne Bell is an American actor and singer born in 1980. Born and raised in Huntington Woods Michigan as the daughter of Lorelei Frygier - a nurse and Tom Bell - a television director - she is an American singer and actress. The mother of Kristen is Polish as is her father, who is German, English Irish and Scottish. Kristen was already a talented performer from a young age. When she was in 1992, the actress attended her first audition and won the role of Raggedy Ann and Andy. Bell's mom introduced her to an agent prior to her turning thirteen, and she was subsequently cast in television advertisements for newspapers and commercials. Bell also began taking acting lessons in private at the age of 13. Bell had a role that was not credited on Polish Wedding (1998), the film that was released in 1998. Bell was a student at Shrine Catholic High School and was a member of the music club and the drama club. When her school staged a production of The Wizard of Oz, Bell was cast as Dorothy. Bell went to New York City for the Tisch School of the Arts to study musical theatre upon graduating. Bell quit her college in 2001 after she took the role of Becky to play Tom Sawyer. The was the same year that she also had her first credit debut in Pootie Tang (2001), but her scene was cut and she was only seen in the credit sequence. Bell appeared with Angela Bettis and Liam Neeson in 2002's Broadway revival of The Crucible.
